Freshen Up the Front Door

Tasteful Fall Decorations

Create a new doorscape with colorful pumpkins and gourds and potted croton or fall colored mums for a festive look for your home's entry.

Get the Fireplace Place Ready

In Florida, we don't have too many days to use the fireplace.  So make sure it is ready to go so when the weather turns chilly you curl up next to the fire with a good book and a glass of red wine. Before lighting the fireplace this year, call a professional chimney sweep to clean and inspect the chimney and fire box.

It's Time to Warm Things Up

It's time to get out the faux fur and warmer weather throws.  Swap out your linen and cotton pillows for velvet or heavier fabric ones in beautiful fall shades.

Make a Fall Wreath

It's time to get crafty and add a touch of fall to your front door with a grapevine or moss-covered wreath.  Top your wreath with fall colored flowers, assorted nuts in their shells, or silk oak tree leaves with acorns.  Check out your local craft store for supplies and inspiration.

Add Fresh Flowers

Brighten up your home with vases of fall flowers. To keep blooms fresh remove all leaves below the water line and change out the water every couple days.

Reupholster Your Dining Chairs

With the holidays approaching, fall is an excellent time to reupholster your dining room chairs or add new cushions.  Chair seats are fairly easy to do, check out some DIY videos online and then head to your local upholstery fabric store for tips, inspiration and to find the right fabric for you.  Tip:  ask for swatches and bring home to see what you like best before purchasing fabric.  Sometimes there will be a nominal charge for this.

Spice Up the Bedroom

Cooler fall weather means it's to time swap out summer bedding for some heavier linens in gorgeous fall shades.  Try a fall color of garnet, pumpkin orange, or gold.  Changing out a couple of pieces is an easy way to refresh your bedroom's look for fall.

Cozy Up the Outdoors

Time to get the firepit our and make the most of the cool evenings.  Create a  small seating area and pillows and throws to give your cozy area and extra boost.
